  Cairo, IL – Conrail SW1 switchers. At this time, they were switching Burkart manufacturing at Cairo. Cars were handled into and out of town by the ICG

 Cairo, IL – Passenger Car used as yard office in the 17th Street Yard. This was moved in following demolition of the facilities on Second Street. At this time, (note the condition of the car), Conrail was renting office space at Eighth and Commercial in town.

August 1979
Karnak, IL – CR/MOP (formerly B4/C&EI) diamond. Coal brought in from mines in the Harrisburg area were interchanged to MOP/C&EI for transport to a power plant at Joppa. Now the coal comes from Wyoming taken by UP and BNSF to Joppa Jct. and then into Joppa on the Joppa & Eastern short line (owned by Amerin).
